The overwhelming Republican wave of 2022 never happened.
So far, it looks like they will win the House. But Senate control is still uncertain along with other races across the country.
What happened to the expected wave?
Surprisingly, Dr. Mehmet Oz may have hit the nail on the proverbial head, back when he debated John Fetterman.
Oz, when discussing abortion, articulated the Republican’s Achilles heel when he said, “I want women, doctors, local political leaders letting the democracy that always allowed our nation to thrive to put the best ideas forward so that states can decide for themselves.”
Think about that…
“Local political leaders” sitting in with doctors and a woman making a difficult and life-changing decision.
Republicans made abortion a political issue instead of an individual rights issue.
Abortion is the Republican’s Achilles heel.
But that’s not all…
There’s also a HUGE ball and chain dragging the Republican Party down—Donald Trump!
More than half the country despises him, and not just Democrats.
His BIG MOUTH keeps spewing out insults even to supporters.
His latest was a snide comment about Governor Ron DeSantis, calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious.” And this was days before the election.
I supported President Trump and his successful policies during his administration.
Until the pandemic, the country was doing quite well because of those policies.
But now, apparently, he can’t help himself.
His big mouth blew crosswinds across an expected Republican wave.
Meanwhile, Democrats, empowered by their “woman’s right to choose” stance, gained traction despite the horrible economy and the President’s low approval ratings.
Republicans took care of the rest.
The wave gently lapped the political shore and died.
